Our First Week Back

Dear Friends,

It has been an eventful first week back.  Beginning next week, we will return to two blog updates per week to help keep you informed of Lower School's News and Notes!  We have lots of fabulous blog entries for this week, and we hope you enjoy reading them.

Recently, our beloved P.E. teacher, Mr. C, reached the milestone of his 600th win as a basketball coach, an incredible accomplishment. To read about his impact, click HERE.  Congratulations, Mr. C!

We are collecting clean, gently used clothing and footwear for all ages in the Lower School and Upper School lobbies in preparation for MLK service projects.  We are also collecting used books for all ages and spare change. Please drop off your donations by Friday, January 16th.

Lower School will host a clothing sale to support domestic violence prevention programs on Saturday, January 17 from 9:00 a.m. till noon.  Please invite friends and family to donate items as well as to come shop.

To register for the Abington Friends School MLK Day of Service, please click HERE or visit the school's website, http://www.abingtonfriends.net/. There are a wide range of projects for all ages.  The day will conclude by noon.  All are welcome to join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King.

Joy, friendship, energy and engaged learning were abound throughout Lower School this week. The hallways buzzed with the voices of students engaged in research, dance, music, mathematical problem solving, technological experiments and shared reading.   We have much planned to study and explore in the weeks to come. Cold weather does not get us down!
