The Class of 2014 has presented the Abington Friends School community with an incredible gift, the opportunity to participate in a workshop with Rodney Glasgow. Rodney Glasgow is an educator, facilitator and activist in the areas of diversity, equity and social justice. As a school, diversity is a core piece of our identity. In each division, students and adults work to celebrate aspects of our unique identities including race, religion, family structure, gender, sexual orientation and ability. We do this through conversations, literature, activities and in our studies. Lower School age kids ask challenging questions, and Rodney's dynamic presentation will offer families with children of all ages ideas of how to engage in conversation around what are important issues of diversity.

Rodney is one of the founding members and now, Chair of the National Association of Independent School’s annual Student Diversity Leadership Conference, which is a 20 year-old training ground drawing over 1,300 students nationwide. He is an experienced educator, trainer, and administrator for students and faculty in grades K-12. He holds a joint degree in Afro-American Studies and Psychology from Harvard University and an M.A. in Organization and Leadership from Columbia University. Rodney is currently the Head of Middle School and Chief Diversity Officer at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD.
