Music, Movement, and String Instruments

Our school year begins with a wonderful flurry of music, movement, instruments, creativity, and curriculum!  3rd grade students received their soprano recorders and have begun introductions to reading music notation.  4th grade students are preparing for the annual Shore Trip that includes a moon inspired ceremony we perform on the beach.  The fourth grade also received their string instruments and are beginning pizzicato technique (plucking the string).  Franklin Niño, Middle School Strings, began an Extended Day Enrichment course called Introduction to Strings for first through third graders.  Music can be heard throughout our community, and it is a great joy to see the children taking ownership of their own passions, interests, and learning.
