Music Study in Kindergarten!

Our kindergartners have been showing great interest in music.  When we notice an emerging interest, we develop a thematic unit that is fueled by the curiosity and excitement of the children.  We are now reading books about music, having group discussions about music...

                                                             ...and listening to the sound waves.

We are seamlessly weaving skill development across physical, emotional, and academic domains as we explore the many layers of music.  The effectiveness of all of the activities we engage in during an emergent study is amplified by the authentic interest and enthusiasm of the children!
