Websites for Kids

Our second graders are digging into online research. With the help of some vetted sites, we are learning how to glean information from websites. As the year progresses, we will begin to discuss what makes a reliable website. This conversation will continue throughout students' Lower School experience.

Second graders quickly discovered that some of the sites not only had valuable information but games as well. One of our favorite sites is Pebble Go. This is a subscription site, written on a primary level which has the added benefit of audio. The students can read on their own, or the site can read it to them. In addition to birds and other animals, the site also covers space, biographies, history and social studies. Students are welcome to log on from home with the following information:
 username: abingtonfs
password: school

Other sites that are age appropriate and popular with the students include:
San Diego Zoo
NatGeo Kids
BioKids
