Aedín and Jason travel to the Music City ~ Nashville, TN

Last week, Aedín and Jason traveled to Nashville, TN for the American Orff Schulwerk Association National Conference.  The conference gathered thousands of music teachers from across the United States to engage in professional development rooted in the Orff Schulwerk process.  Teachers and musicians steeped themselves in music, movement, singing, instruments, performances, and organized dance workshops throughout the 4 day conference.

Banners were hung from chapters from all over the country.

Presenter Dr. J.S. Kofi Gbolonyo presented a session on Ghanaian Children's Games.
The dancing and singing were absolutely an incredible experience.

Known throughout the world famously for working with Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman on the Orff Schulwerk Music for Children Volumes, Aedín and Jason had the opportunity to study and learn from the master Jos Wuytack!  Jos has trained teachers in over 51 countries throughout the world.
What an honor!

At the end of a session, Aedín and Jason ran into an Abington Friends School graduate, Russell Nadel.  Russell serves as the Middle School Music Specialist at the Potomac School in Virginia.  You can read more about Russell's work HERE.  We had the opportunity to spend some time talking about the work in our discipline area and invited Russel to come visit AFS sometime next year.

Before leaving Nashville, Aedín and Jason bought tickets to see the famous Grand Ole Opry.  Many upcoming stars and musicians performed country and blue grass.  It was an amazing end to a week full of music, movement, instruments, singing, dancing, and fun!
