This Week in PE and Health - Part 3

Physical Education:

The past two weeks have been full of moving into our soccer unit.  We have worked on manipulation of the lower extremities and really tried to focus in on the skills of:

  • Dribbling
  • Passing
  • Defense
  • Decision Making
  • Cooperation

We have tried to achieve these concepts by using a variety of different drills and games.  Some of the game were focusing in on specific skills and others moved into the idea of cooperation and game strategy.  Some of the drills we did were:

  • Dribble Lines
  • Partner Passing
  • Stuck in the Mudd (soccer version)
  • Dribble knockout
  • 2 on 1
  • 3 on 2
  • 3 on 3
  • Partner Dribbling Tag
  • 3 Lane Soccer
  • Etc.

3 Lane soccer (pictured above) was an activity encompassing all of our skills we learned over the past 2 weeks!

Health and Wellness:
Health and Wellness this week has moved into talk of nutrition and healthy foods vs unhealthy foods.  We have also continued the topic of sportsmanship and cooperation.  This has been shown through many of our activities and have given us a chance to work through what it looks like to be a good sport.
