Churchville Nature Center

4th Grade Trip to Churchville Nature Center
Friday, September 27

On Friday, September 27, our 4th graders visited the Churchville Nature Center. This unique, hands-on experience provided our students the opportunity to explore what it was like to live in our area as a Native American in the 1500s, just before contact with European settlers. Trained educators dressed in authentic buckskin guided us as we examined the cultural practices of the Lenape people.  We learned about family structures, gardening and cooking techniques, and hunting practices.  Our groups played Lenape games and even built a fire!
