It's About Time

Second graders have just begun working on the concept of time and learning to use an analog clock  to tell time. Students will be learning to use the minute and hour hand to show and tell time to the nearest minute.  We began with learning parts of the clock and how to tell time to the hour and half hour.  We will then go into telling time to the quarter hour and to the minute. Finally, students will be learning how to read a schedule and to determine elapsed time.  This skill can be challenging as so many clocks today are digital!

Students are at different places in their knowledge of telling time, and we'd like for their practice to match where they are. The links below are for a game called "Stop the Clock!"  It is a fun game that can be used at different levels.  At school, the students are trying out this game and the links below will enable them to also play at home.
