At the festival, students shared their research about the important Chinese holiday, as well as a video they made about the moon and another video of an artistic retelling of a popular Chinese folktale, the story of Hou Yi and Chang Er. Third graders shone on stage as they presented poems they wrote about the beauty and magnificence of the moon, accompanied by their beautiful artwork. The third graders also shared a traditional Chinese song, The Moon Boat Song, that they learned in music class, as well as a moon poem the third graders wrote in Spanish class.
