Each grade that listened to his presentation had very thoughtful questions for Eric, and he answered many of them. We are excited to be invited once he has the web page set up on his website for our students to be able to share original art in response to his books. He encouraged our students to explore his website. and if he didn't answer their question they might find the answer there. He also said there are games available for children to play that connect with his books. Eric signed and donated a set of books for our library. He also signed books students had ordered as well. Eric sent an email after his visit saying what a great experience it was for him to present to our students and how he would like to come back in a few years. As he continues to publish new books, he has a new one coming out in December and in the winter of 2018, we will definitely want him to come back.

Author Eric Luper Inspires!
Eric Luper, the author of Keyhunters and The Chocolate Lab series visited grades kindergarten through fourth grade on Thursday November 16. Our students were very well prepared for his visit, having listened to his books read aloud as part of reading workshop in grades one through three and with the kindergarten and fourth grade having the books previewed during their library time. Eric shared that he had one hundred rejections before his first book was published and now ten years later there are over million copies of his books in print! Eric is a both a writer and a doctor. He talked about how early before work and in the evening after dinner with his family, he spends time writing. He travels a great deal for his writing, researching the facts that he embeds in his books. Eric gave an important message to our student writers-"So if you want to be a writer, go for it!" http://www.ericluper.com/
