Second grade has been investigating the power of images. We have been reading wordless books such as Tuesday by David Wiesner and The Monkey Goes Bananas by CP Bloom. We discussed how the images tell the story, taking time to look deeply into pictures to discover character, themes, and plot line. Now we are playing with images on the computer. Using the filters in PhotoBooth, students were given the opportunity to play with, create and of course snap pictures.
Students will choose their favorite five to use in a slideshow created in PowerPoint. This will give them the opportunity to continue strengthening their skills with the toolbar as they will have a chance to change the size, color and font of their letters since they will be adding captions to their pictures. It will also introduce students to manipulating images.
Also, students will be able to pick their favorite image to share with the school. Look for our display coming soon in the Lower School Library!
