Jacqueline Davies, author of The Boy Who Drew Birds: A Story of John James Audubon will be visiting Lower School on Friday, December 4th. Our second grade class does an extensive study of birds and have loved using this book over the last several years, as a cornerstone of their study. Students learn about the life of John James Audubon and in conjunction with a field trip to the Audubon Center, complete bird portraits of the birds they have chosen to study in art. Jacqueline Davies has also written numerous other books including the The Lemonade War series.
Some of her books will be for sale at our Lower School book fair. We will be sending home an order form in November with a list of her books for sale that she will sign and bring to school for her visit.
