Kindergarten Explores Instruments in the Music Room!

Kindergarteners got the opportunity to take out a few of our percussion instruments in the music room and try them out. We talked about how to care for our instruments so that they last a long time, so we can play them for many years to come. Kindergartners explored the different ways they can play their instruments, from patting to scratching, scraping, shaking and knocking. Friends were encouraged to find others ways of playing their instruments other than the traditional ways. For instance, turning a drum up-side-down and putting a shaker inside and moving it around. Or tapping a "scrape" instrument and scraping a tapping instrument. Some of us got together and created our own band!

This friend really enjoyed playing multiple shaker eggs together!
