Kindergarten in the Outdoor Classroom

There are so many ways that we engage in outdoor activities that deepen our connection to the world around us and build our academic skills.
Writing -  we write while outside, developing literacy skills and fine motor skills.
Water play -  we are developing our observational skills, integrating sensory information, and deepening our understanding of the laws of physics.
Math - the children happily suspend their outdoor work to sit and play with numbers.
Collecting seeds during science class - the children were beside themselves with excitement about all of the different kinds of seeds they found.
