The two third grade classes had a great time when we gathered for our first full-grade math time. Students worked through a Math Scavenger Hunt that had them collaborate to complete tasks such as finding an item in the classroom that was between 24 and 36 inches in length and calculating the sum of the letters in three friends' names. Some items required the students to complete a physical task, including doing the number of jumping jacks correlated to the number they got as an answer. Other items required a creative task, such as coming up with a cheer about math. Working on the scavenger hunt together provided the kids with a fun chance to connect with friends from the other class and to practice some hands-on math.Welcome to the Abington Friends Lower School blog! We invite you to learn more about what students are studying, find information about special events, and explore links to community activities that connect to life in Lower School.
