On Friday, third grade embarked on our
study of the magnificent country of China. One of our first tasks was to make our own
passports so that we could get ready to travel and learn all that we could
together. Third grade chartered our flight in style on Abington Friendly Sky’s non-stop
service to Beijing. Students listened attentively to pilots Felix,
Jeanne, and Phallon as we reviewed procedures for safety and take-off. Soon, we were flying over the Pacific Ocean on
our way to China!
We
had a special flight path flying past beautiful terraced rice paddies, karst
mountains, thirty-story pagodas, and winding rivers in central China. Then, we
ducked through Shanghai to see some of the some of the most famous and tallest
skyscrapers in the world. Snacks and
beverages were passed out and we enjoyed the amazing and peaceful scenery. Through the miracle of technology, our normal
20 hour flight took just 20 minutes! After we disembarked our plane and had our
passports stamped, we were ready for our journey into China. We can’t
wait to learn all about this awesome country!
