Third graders have been practicing their research skills using the
Pebble Go website. Each student had the opportunity to investigate a topic of their choice, cull five facts from the information presented on Pebble Go, and are in the process of synthesizing the information into a PowerPoint. The activity gave students the chance to explore a unique area of interest and learn using various modalities. Pebble Go has text, which can be read to the student, pictures, and videos.
The skills embedded in the project include:
- Reading for information
- Introductory note taking
- Synthesizing information in a logical fashion
- PowerPoint
- Finding images
- Citing information
We hope to have the project finished by the end of October when students will get to share what they have learned with their peers.
Additionally, students are welcome to use PebbleGo at home on their own time to further explore the program. The username is abingtonfs and the password is school.
