Hearts for the Hundredth Day of Third Grade

A while back, to celebrate the 100th day of school, third graders worked to come up with 100 ways to show kindness, which they wrote on individual hearts.  As they worked, in quickly became clear that it was going to take longer than we thought to get to 100!   Some students had the idea to put the hearts out in the hallway for others to read.  That thought quickly grew into the idea of having others in Lower School help us get to 100.  We placed blank hearts in a basket next to our completed hearts, which we taped in the Lower School lobby.  Each afternoon, third graders excitedly checked the basket for new hearts and taped them on the wall to add to our collection.

Our class has loved reading everyone's ideas and we were so happy to see that students from all grades, parents and teachers all contributed their ideas.

If you get a chance, stop by the  Lower School lobby to read through our MORE than 100 ways to show kindness.  Our last count was at 148!!!
