In connection with our animal study, we went on a field trip to the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown. We were treated to a fascinating presentation on animal senses. Our students displayed there exceptional listening and comprehension skills, and surprised our presenter with deep knowledge of animals in their senses!

Kindergarten's Emergent Animal Study
We begin the school year studying the five senses. In science class, the students learned about animal senses, and we noticed a collective fascination taking hold of the group. We started reading books about animals, and each student chose an animal to research. In art class they made clay sculptures of their animals, and our library supplied us with books about their animals.
